Venue pages link to exchanges with our referral link where we have one. A referral may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you; it never changes the order of this table.

Accounts to open

More venues means more pairs: every exchange you have an account on adds pairs you can actually trade.

If you already have an account on a venue, do not open a second one to use our link: many venues forbid it.

How funding pairs work: two accounts, the checklist and the risks

How funding farming works

Perpetual futures never expire. To keep their price close to the spot price, venues charge funding: when the rate is positive, longs pay shorts, and the other way round when it is negative. The same coin often has different rates on different venues.

A funding pair uses that gap. You open a long on the venue where funding is lower and a short of the same size on the venue where it is higher. Price moves roughly cancel out between the legs, and you collect the funding difference minus fees.

Why you need two accounts

The two legs live on different venues, so you need an account and collateral on each. Margin is not shared: profit on one leg cannot cover a loss on the other until you move money yourself, and withdrawals or bridges can take from minutes to an hour or more.

Checklist

  1. Pick a pair in the screener. Check the 7-day spread, the stability badge and the warnings, not just the current rate.
  2. Make sure both venues accept users from your country (see each venue's page).
  3. Open accounts on any venue where you do not have one yet.
  4. Deposit collateral on both venues and leave a margin buffer.
  5. Open both legs at the same size, as close together in time as you can.
  6. Watch the funding sign, margin on each venue and the price gap between the legs.
  7. Close both legs together. Run the numbers first in the calculator.

Risks

  • One leg can be liquidated. At 3x on each leg, a move of roughly 25–30% against one leg can liquidate it while the other leg's profit sits on another venue. Lower leverage and extra margin give you time to react.
  • Funding changes. Rates flip, and a wide spread today can be gone tomorrow.
  • Venue risk. Outages, hacks, delistings, auto-deleveraging and paused withdrawals happen. Drift lost about $285M to an exploit in April 2026. Do not keep more on a venue than you can afford to lose.
  • Same ticker, different asset. Check that both legs really are the same asset.
  • Execution. Slippage and the gap between your two entry prices cost money, more so on thin order books.
  • Access rules. Many venues bar some countries. Use only venues you are allowed to use; we do not help anyone get around restrictions.
  • Points are discretionary. Programs change and can cut rewards retroactively. Most venues ban multiple accounts and trading with yourself.

About the links on this page

Some “Open account” links in the table above are referral links. A referral is usually tied to an account when it is created, so use our link only for venues where you do not have an account yet.
